We have been full members of the Visit England accreditation scheme for over 10 years but left the scheme in 2022.  Throughout this period we were consistently awarded the Visit England Gold Award each and every year which denotes, what they call the ‘best of the best’ in the provision of  quality accommodation.  We were also consistently given a four star rating throughout these 10 years  which shows that we were consistently assessed as providing top quality in all areas measured (including all facilities and services) expected for quality in self-catering accommodation.

However, Visit England charge us as owners a significant fee each year for each of our five holiday cottages to remain and participate in their accreditation scheme.  As a result of these charges, we have now decided to withdraw from this scheme in order to save money and keep prices for our guests as competitive as possible.  However, we can assure you that we will continue to maintain the really high standards of cleanliness and service for all our guests, which is very important to us.  As owners Jeanette and Rob Folwell personally carry out all cleaning and upkeep of all the holiday cottages and grounds, we do not have any employees, so we are personally responsible for maintaining the high standards we have achieved in the past and we will continue to do in the future.  We are confident that you will not be disappointed and look forward to welcoming you to Greetham Retreat.

Over 30,000 accommodation businesses are assessed by VisitEngland nationally, but only 100 of them are given this prestigious award each year.
